Important- Mae has hydrocephalus (often called “water on the brain”),which sometimes occurs in toy or small breeds, but it can occur in others too. This is a buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, It’s often congenital (present from birth) and more common in certain breeds like Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Pomeranians, Bulldogs, etc. Many dogs manage well with medication (e.g., diuretics to reduce fluid), surgery in some cases, or supportive care.
